Preparing for a fashionable Fall!

By cecilycecily | January 07, 2012

It might seem ludicrous to think about Fall trends while we are amidst the semi-blistering Aussie Summer – however I assure you, winter clothes will be in stores soon enough and you must be prepared.

The Fall 2011 shows revived some of my favourite trends in an exceptionally innovative – dare I say – fashion.

Of these trends, I’m going to share with you my favourites, and deliver a heads up on what to look for when you hit the stores this winter!

Turning heads

Oh how I love a little bit of hair accessory. I almost feel naked without it. So I was very excited to find these little Alannah Hill treasures and had to share them with you.

Having a little ornament on your head breaks down the dreary winter greys and blacks in your wardrobe and creates a sense of excitement and energy to your look.

Whether you opt for a hat or a headband really depends on your personal style, the shape of your head, your hair style and the shape of your face.

Winter Essentials

We all understand that when new winter arrivals reach the floors of our favorite retailers, the Australian temperature may be a little slow to catch on. In this instance we suggest you look for and select key pieces that will be your wardrobe essentials for the new season.

We love the swing jacket that has a slight nod towards military, which will be available in the boldest of colors thanks to Karen Walker. Also soon to be popular again will be the tulip skirt and body con dresses that will flatter all shapes.

Girls will be boys

Androgyny has been a huge influence in the fashion stakes for a few seasons now and it seems like it ii is not going away, so we suggest you get into it! We love Jessie Hill's new winter collection featuring a gorgeous cropped hair model in sharp silhouettes, intricate prints and a touch of romance. Add more drama to your androgynous look with army boots, studded accessories and shoulder enhancements. Warning, this look is not for the faint hearted.
