Thigh High

It seems that in recent years, women’s boots have really jumped into the spotlight when it comes to winter fashion. We’ve seen studs, chains, and chunky wedged heels galore and now, a trend that has come off the runways and into mainstream fashion is the above-the-knee and even thigh-high boot.

Now when one immediately thinks of this style of boot it might be difficult to eliminate the S&M connotation. To avoid this look, steer clear of all patent leather, and stiletto or thick heels unless you really know what you’re doing. Although a lot of this seasons runway collections feature above-the-knee boots with heels, it is very difficult to replicate the look off the catwalk without people getting the wrong idea. So I recommend opting for a classic styled flat boot. Reaching above the knee, it will elongate your legs regardless, and complete an elegant winter outfit. A flat above-the-knee or thigh-high boot in matte leather, or suede in almost any colour variation is the perfect option to stylise an outfit for both day and night whilst remaining in complete comfort.

For day, wear with a pair of jeans, shirt and jacket, and for night, wear with black tights, a dress and a blazer for an amazingly chic yet comfortable look. This style of boot is undoubtedly the hottest shoe trend for women this season!
